Tara Winstead Blog

Cue the confetti!!

 Tara is
FINALLY
blogging!

I know I know...You’re SO excited!

So last night I decided I was going to make my first blog entry. I’ve known I’ve wanted to create a blog but the motivation to actually DO what I’ve scribbled down in notebooks for years didn’t seem realistic.  You can read more of my story here.

When our kids went to bed last night, I found myself brainstorming what to write about first. Then it hit me…I could talk about my first EVER online blog entry, in the form of “Xanga” circa 1999.  Then ya’ll, THEN, that had me attempting to gain access to my old Xanga.

Stay with me on this…

AND THEN

I was all like “Aw I wish I had access to my old Myspace too!”

AND THEN

I was like “Oh shoot I need access into my old email that was hacked.”

AND THEN

I was like, “Let me ask friends what my last emails were to them with that old account.”

AND THEN

I laughed reminiscing about old emails.

AND THEN…1.5 HOURS INTO THIS…

My daughter wakes up with a belly ache and I, ya know, MUST comfort her for 45 minutes.

That’s what happened when I tried to write my first blog entry.

THIS IS WHAT ADHD IS.
THIS IS WHY I AM STARTING THIS BLOG.

There are more of me in this world out here! I know I’m not alone. I know there’s other moms like me that are sitting at their computer during nap time/after bedtime routine at night, with a passion, wanting to do more, but simply CAN NOT DO IT.

I’m not just talking about lack of motivation.

I’m talking about the mom who is just plain exhausted, or the mom that started a biz once & stopped a couple months in. (Hi, I’m Tara and I’m a repeat offender of doing this LOL).

I know it seems so out of reach starting a business, blog, etsy shop, whatever it may be right now – or even continuing a business once you have kids. But let me just tell you…it is possible. I have done it & I am doing it once again and so can you.

Along with sharing some of my work here, my main goal of this blog is to hopefully find a community of those wanting to follow their passion but just need a little support and encouragement.

I want to take everything I have learned being a small business owner and create resources. Pour everything I have learned from being a photographer for the past 11+ years and just share my reality of going full time while being a distracted stay at home mom. My greatest distraction being myself.

And to the ADHD or just plain over-it-in-an-hour-preneurs like me out there:

– You are creative.

– You have incredible ideas that you deserve to see followed through.

– You can find motivation, though it may come in waves.

– You can follow your passions surrounded by distractions.

– YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I’m here! 🙂
