BUT ANYWAY.
I want to share some perspective to those that have no idea if they want to do one or not, and to those that honestly had no idea this was a “thing”. I sure didn’t when I got married 7 1/2 years ago, but my photographer said I should do it and so I did…and it was exactly what I needed.
I even considered doing a pros and cons list, but honestly I sat for so long and could only think of one “pro”. And that is it follows tradition. And I don’t even know what kind of pro that is other than it makes grandma and mom happy….🤷🏼♀️Oh oh.. and this one, that it seems like “the right thing to do”. OH CONTRAIRE! I’ll tell you why.
Lets be honest. Planning out a Wedding sometimes can feel more like planning a big party,
and can take away from the true meaning of the day. The alone moment between the two of you is
a good way to get into the right mindset of the day.
It’s about your love for eachother – not the event.
More time to get those Pinterest perfect wedding photos – ya know, the ones that will be all over your walls for the rest of your life.
More time to get to your reception after the ceremony.
All the “hard work” is done for the day once you say “I do!”
Less time guests have to wait to eat! Plus – they’ll stick around longer if there’s always something on the agenda!
The anxiety you feel all wedding day is REAL – the anticipation of the events to come can bring out some major jitters.
The best remedy? Seeing your future spouse.
You and the love of your life, the person you anticipate to see the most, have seen eachother
and all of the sudden nothing else matters.
NO, it will not take away from your grand entrance.
YES, your groom will still be emotional maybe even cry at the alter.
My goodness I can’t even count how many first looks I’ve photographed with a sobbing groom at the alter. My husband included.
It’s overwhelming with that song playing you’ve envisioned your whole life walking down the aisle by your dad to. IT’S A LOT. You’ll feel it, your future hubby will feel it. I repeat – it will not take away from your grand entrance. It will not.
